The EMDA's primary objectives are to be an effective national industry voice, and to provide valuable services, and opportunities to its members. On behalf of its membership, the EMDA is working to:
- Ensure EMDs have a voice in the development of new or revised securities laws and regulations;
- Provide its members with sources of information to help interpret and implement their regulatory obligations;
- Encourage and enable a strong culture of compliance with securities regulations amongst its members, and across the exempt market;
- Monitor and speak out on the issues effecting the exempt market and EMDs;
- Establish communications and networking opportunities between members and within the exempt market;
- Develop meaningful dialogue and working relationships with provincial securities regulatory authorities, stock exchanges and relevant federal and provincial government ministries;
- Provide or facilitate educational programs for continued learning and to enable members to meet their regulatory proficiency requirements; and
- Ensure a healthy and vibrant exempt capital market across Canada.
